The main purpose for roof ventilation is to have temperatures on the outside and inside of the roof materials as close as possible.  This also includes the reduction of moisture buildup.

Most homes have static ventilation devices that include Ridge vents, Gable vents, and small static vents.  These upper roof vents combined with adequate Soffit or BirdBlock vents provide airflow during evening and no-sun conditions.

Power Ventilation (use of motorized fan systems) during the heat part of the day reduces the pressure (heat) buildup and in fact, creates a slight negative pressure that allows Soffit and BirdBlock vents to work effectively.

Solar Sun-Vent draws out heated/moist attic air while under-eave Soffit vents maintain airflow  through unobstructed baffle vent channel.

Architectural Appearance

The Sun-Vent is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible.  The shingle pattern design and low profile make Sun-Vent an attractive addition to any roof. 

Quiet Operation

A combination of a high efficiency motor and specially designed 5-blade fan provides whisper quiet airflow.  By design, Sun-Vent is much quieter than electric fans, squeaky turbines and even other solar fans.

"State of the Art" Materials

All Sun-Vent models use UNI-SOLAR non-glass, unbreakable solar panels  Each panel utilizes proprietary Triple Junction silicon solar cells on a thin sheet of stainless steel.  The result is a unique, flexible, lightweight panel that can withstand hail, wind stressing and flexing of the unit.  UNI-SOLAR panels are more shade tolerant and operate better in low light than glass panels.  They out perform glass panels by 30-50% at high temperatures.  Solder connections are metal-to-metal and sealed for weather tightness.  The 1-38 volt DC motor is specially designed to operate at 1/3 of its capacity to provide many years of maintenance free operation.  Sealed bearings and direct-wired replaceable brushes provide maximum panel to motor electrical power transfer.  The top and base are constructed of UV stabilized ABS plastic covered with KORAD acrylic to prevent damage from direct sunlight.  Combined with stainless steel hardware and screen, the design allows for substantial flexing with no cracking an maximum corrosion resistance.  The complete Sun-Vent line provides a multitude of options for solar powered ventilation.

Warranty

All Sun-Vent models have a ten-year transferable warranty on the housing and solar panel and a five-year warranty on the motor.  The warranty covers the products against defects in material and workmanship, and provides more than adequate time for any material or performance irregularities to be identified.  Materials are expected to exceed the life of your roofing materials.
